Reporting directly to the Director of Career and College Promise Programs ( CCP ), the Academic Services Technician provides administrative and operational support to the Academic Programs division. This position is responsible for coordinating daily office operations while performing a variety of administrative functions.
The Academic Services Technician also provides support to our academic deans to ensure efficient departmental operations and understanding throughout our faculty, staff, students and community partners.
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of two years' office management and secretarial experience and knowledge of Colleague

Duties & Responsibilities
- 1. Initiates, processes, and reviews routine and/or specialized paperwork, forms, reports, data, and/or confidential information related to assigned area of responsibility, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information; Maintains related records. May record meeting minutes.
- 2. Performs various clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include: distributing mail; making photocopies; sending faxes; and scheduling appointments and/or department activities.
- 3. Responds to requests for information, in person, via e-mail, and over the phone; takes and transmits messages; answers routine questions and provides information; directs visitors to appropriate locations.
- 4. Prepares and/or enters a variety of information into applicable documents, spreadsheets, documents, invoices, databases, logs, forms, and/or other related areas, utilizing established guidelines and procedures. Performs basic quantitative and qualitative reviews of data.
- 5. Drafts and types a variety of business documents, including letters, memos, contracts, and/or other related documents.
- 6. Monitors and maintains inventory which includes creating purchasing orders and monitoring expenses. Monitors and maintains inventory and supplies.
- 7. May prioritize and assign work to student workers; monitor the performance of student workers; and train student workers on work methods and procedures.
- 8. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
