Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a SPECIALIST: ACADEMIC 10 MTH to lead program/content projects, guide assessment and instruction, and support equity-focused professional learning across schools and the district. This role integrates Blueprint for Maryland’s Future initiatives with local/state requirements and partners with multiple stakeholders.

The position emphasizes collaboration with school leaders, data-informed decision making, and planning for extended hours and after-hours

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school organization, curriculum, teaching techniques; current trends, research and materials of instruction.
• Demonstrates leadership qualities as a member of an instructional staff.
• Ability to work with grade levels pre-K through 12 and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and parents.
• Proficiency with business technology applications (Video/Web Conferencing, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic, collaborative member to communicate mission, goals, and expectations.
• Plan, oversee, and lead program/content projects from ideation through completion.
• Support system leadership in adoption and implementation of evidence-based programming.
• Work with administration and teacher leaders to plan structures for teacher capacity.
• Analyze student achievement data to evaluate program effectiveness and adjust resources.
• Provide professional learning for stakeholders at school, system, and community levels.
• Implement initiatives aligned to The Blueprint for Maryland's Future and other requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration with internal and external offices and stakeholders.
• Plan system initiatives outside the school day (evenings, weekends, summer).
• Remain current with best practices and advance content/program work.
