The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking an Academic Pathway Advisor in Grand Island to recruit, advise, and support students in the TRIO Programs, with regular travel within the Grand Island/Winnebago service area. This full-time, grant-funded role emphasizes autonomy, community partnerships, and enrichment activities, including workshops and summer programming, with occasional travel to Lincoln.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
Two years of experience in an academic and/or social setting with low-income students.
Demonstrated experience designing curriculum and/or workshops for students.
Ability to develop educational programming related to career exploration, financial literacy, and post-secondary preparation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Recruit, advise, and support students in the program and monitor their success.

As the Academic Pathway Advisor, you will:
Recruit, advise, and support students in the program and monitor their success. Minimum Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, psychology/counseling, or a related field.
Previous TRIO experience.
Experience in an educational setting with middle‑school and/or high school students.
Demonstrated experience with managing and maintaining student records.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families and educators—including but not limited to parents, community and school leaders, and alumni.
Competent with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other instructional software.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
