The Assistant Director of Admissions will have direct responsibility for undergraduate recruitment efforts for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This individual will coordinate undergraduate recruitment efforts for transfer, military, low-income, first generation, and underrepresented prospective students. This team member will also provide supervision for assigned recruitment areas. The team member will supervise multiple staff in the office and will serve as a consultant to many other teams and campus partners on transfer, military, low-income, first generation, and underrepresented prospective students. This position will serve as a liaison between UNL and high schools, community programs, and community colleges and will help grow partnerships for the university. This person will work with associate director to set priorities as it relates to transfer, military, low-income, first generation, and underrepresented prospective students. The position will provide updates to associate director on analysis of data and ensure that goals are met; actions taken consistent with this analysis and provide recommendations on recruitment strategies; interpretation of recruitment policies and exercises authority and independent judgment in making recruitment decisions on a case-by-case basis.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Proven ability to work independently and with little or no supervision, little or no clerical support. Ability to analyze data and use information to make decisions connected to recruitment strategies and tactics. Experience with developing team members. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Salesforce or another Client Relationship System (CRM). Demonstrated diversity recruitment experience. Experience with undergraduate recruitment at large public institutions.
  • Knowledge of UNL and its challenges and opportunities connected to undergraduate student recruitment. Bi-lingual in Spanish. Event planning experience. Experience catering communication to meet the needs of various populations. Experience working in higher education. Familiarity with UNLs High School and College Relations operations and procedures. Knowledge of the state of Nebraska and its challenges amongst under-represented populations. Knowledge of minority recruitment. Extensive knowledge of UNL. Experience supervising staff members.
  • Knowledge of UNL’s University Multicultural Programs.
