Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools is seeking an Academic Interventionist at Explorer Elementary School. This 38-week position involves 28 hours per week (7 hours/day, 4 days/week) at $150.43 per day, or 25 hours per week (5 hours/day, 5 days/week) at $107.45 per day.

The role includes reinforcing reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction; supporting students individually and in small groups; and assisting with assessments, materials, and parent communication.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 90 college credits from an accredited college or university, required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist professional staff with administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in planning and delivering instructional materials aligned to IEP objectives.
• Maintain records to document student learning and performance.
• Support classroom management to keep students on task and safe.
