Kentwood Public Schools is seeking an Academic Interventionist for a 38-week, 28-hour-per-week (4 days) schedule at $150.43/day or a 25-hour-per-week (5 days) option at $107.45/day. The role involves supporting students in reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, both individually and in small groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 90 college credits from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate preferred.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Understanding of curriculum development processes.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and administration.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
• Assists in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Prepares and reinforces instructional materials and strategies for individual needs.
• Maintains records documenting student learning and performance.
• Supports classroom behavior management and safe, orderly environments.
• Supervises non-instructional duties such as lunch, bus, and playground supervision.
• Assists with field trips and parent contact as requested.
• Supports students with disabilities to maximize inclusion and participation.
