The University of California, Davis is seeking a dedicated Academic HR Analyst to join the Dean's Office team. This role involves managing academic personnel actions, collaborating with faculty, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a commitment to supporting academic personnel processes. This position offers a hybrid work environment and a comprehensive benefits package.
This position will be part of the Dean's Office analyst team but serve as the primary resource and administrator for all academic personnel actions pertaining to members of the Academic Senate or Academic Federation, collective bargaining units, visiting titles and miscellaneous titles for an assigned group of departments within the School of Medicine. The incumbent will serve as the local AP expert conducting in-depth research on complex issues and problematic cases and recommend solutions. They are also required to work collaboratively with faculty and department staff to develop, monitor and submit complete and timely faculty packets for new academic appointments and faculty advancements including merits, promotions, appraisals, five-year reviews and deferrals.

Department Overview
The Office of Academic Personnel, Schools of Health (SOH) Dean's Office has overall responsibility for administration of all academic personnel processes in the School of Medicine. The School consists of 24 departments and 12 organized research units. The office is comprised of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel, Assistant Dean for Academic Personnel, Department CAO, and a team of Academic HR and Project Policy Analysts. The workforce of the School consists of approximately 4000 academic appointees including members of the Academic Senate, Academic Federation, Volunteer Clinical Faculty, and other academic titles.
Department Specific Job Scope
Academic Personnel oversees the recruitment, advancement, compensation and retention of all academic personnel. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, the staff works collaboratively to provide high-level analytical support to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Department Chairs, Chief Administrative Officers and faculty. They provide training, information, policy interpretation, and development of new policies and procedures.
