Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking an Account Executive for the East Los Angeles and San Diego Academic markets. This field-based role drives the Chromium, Visium, and Xenium franchises, consults with customers on technology choices, and builds territory plans to exceed goals.

You will manage the sales process from prospecting to closing, develop relationships with thought leaders, forecast accurately, and collaborate with sales and support teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in biology.
• Minimum of 2 years sales experience in Life Science, selling capital equipment and consumables.
• Extensive knowledge of single cell and spatial biology tools.
• Ability to travel to field sites as needed.
• Proven ability to establish long-term customer relationships and close new business.
• Strong customer-facing skills and ability to navigate research institutions.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Account Planning: Develop a territory plan to meet or exceed goals.
• Customer Consultation: Apply technical credibility to consult on technology solutions.
• Sales Management: Manage funnel, forecasting, and pipeline with CRM tools.
• Customer Relationships: Build trust with customers and ensure post-sale satisfaction.
• Market Knowledge: Stay current on genomics trends and key decision-makers.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with sales and support teams to drive decisions.
• Post-Purchase Support: Maintain relationships to identify new opportunities.
• Business Planning: Ensure accurate forecasting and territory planning.
• Market and Product Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of market practices and products.
