Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking a Director of Academics for Cleveland College Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. The role centers on developing and supporting instructional staff, guiding curriculum delivery, and using data to improve student outcomes.

The candidate will lead teacher coaching, performance feedback, and targeted PD to ensure alignment with state standards and school goals. Strong collaboration with parents and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Active professional teacher certification
• Minimum five years’ experience as a successful teacher
• Two years’ experience in instructional coaching or teacher leadership preferred
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, parents and boards
• Demonstrated results in increasing student achievement on state tests
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience using multiple data sources to assess performance and plan instruction

Responsibilities

• Develop and support the school’s instructional staff
• Guide teachers in effective use of curriculum materials
• Review lesson plans weekly; conduct teacher observations
• Provide feedback, professional development and coaching
• Use data to drive instructional improvement and monitor achievement
• Collaborate with parents to build confidence in the program
• Coordinate special projects and community involvement
