ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking an Academic Support Specialist at Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on improving student achievement, engagement, and social-emotional development within a public charter school network.

The position requires a Master’s in Guidance & Counseling with an Ohio School Counseling endorsement or a Bachelor’s with a valid teaching certificate, and involves collaboration with administrators, teachers, and families to support

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling with School Counseling endorsement.
• Bachelor’s Degree with Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Relentlessly work to meet goals related to student achievement and culture and AY P goals.
• Meet with at-risk students each marking period to plan academic success with student and parent/guardian involvement.
• Promote programs that support academic, social, or emotional growth (e.g., Career Fair, Honors Program, scholarship opportunities).
• Meet with eighth grade students each semester and mail updates on promotion status to parents.
• Assist students with high school admissions applications.
• Support educational and behavioral goals for students, including those with IEPs or English language learners.
• Collaborate with the Director of Academics, Parent Liaison, and Dean of Students on disciplinary, attendance, and academic challenges.
