Job summary

The University of Cincinnati Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine seeks a full-time Clinical Chemist to lead the clinical chemistry and toxicology sections of the UC Medical Center Laboratory. The role offers teaching, research, and leadership opportunities in a premier academic medical setting.

Responsibilities include directorship of chemistry/toxicology, collaboration on test development and QA, and resident education.

Qualifications

• MD or Doctorate required.
• Licensure by Ohio Medical Board.
• Residency in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or combined AP/CP.
• Fellowship training or 12 months of Clinical Chemistry experience.

Responsibilities

• Directorship of clinical chemistry and toxicology sections; oversee test development, validation, LIS, and automation.
• Lead reference laboratory operations with QA/QI activities and collaboration with health professionals.
• Involve in resident education through didactic, small group, and conference sessions.
