Job summary

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking an academic Clinical Pathologist. The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine provides clinical service, resident and fellow teaching, and opportunities for collaborative research within a growing health system.

The role focuses on independent sign-out across laboratory sections, interpretive reporting in clinical context, and consultation with physicians, with participation in multidisciplinary conferences and call coverage.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent).
• Residency/training: three-year in Clinical Pathology or four-year in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent clinical pathology sign-out for assigned laboratory sections as needed.
• Review, interpret, verify, and authorize complex and clinically significant laboratory results.
• Provide interpretive comments and integrated diagnostic assessments in clinical context.
• Serve as a consultant to physicians and advanced practice providers on test selection and follow-up.
• Participate in coverage of clinical pathology call services and urgent result communication.
• Ensure timely completion of daily sign-out responsibilities and maintain service standards.
