University of Illinois Chicago seeks an Assistant Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory to join the College of Medicine as open rank faculty. The role requires fellowship training and significant clinical chemistry experience with scholarly achievement preferred.

The position is full-time in Chicago, IL within the Pathology department, with responsibilities spanning clinical service, translational research, and medical education for students and residents while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/DO required; board certification in Clinical Chemistry for PhD holders or Chemical Pathology/Clinical Chemistry certification for MD/DO holders.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic services for Clinical Chemistry.
• Assist Director to ensure quality of testing across preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic stages.
• Develop and monitor quality measures and proficiency testing participation.
• Educate medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners.
