Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire in order to sit for American Board of Opticianry (ABO) exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Licensed/Registered States Only: Meets or can satisfy state law requirements to become an apprentice optician and licensed optician. Must complete all applicable state licensure within 18 months of hire or job entry.
• Willingness and ability to work with Manager to register and maintain own NPI number as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking, pricing, and organizing displays and handling claims and returns.
• Educate members on eyewear usage, care, and contact lens guidance; assist in measurements, fittings, and repairs.
• Process optical eyewear and contact lens orders; manage inventory and calibration of equipment.
• Operate POS system; process member purchases, payments, returns, exchanges, and refunds.
• Complete patient appointments, pre-testing, and communicate with labs and optometrists as applicable.
