YAI - Seeing beyond disability is hiring an Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist (ABIS) for Suffolk County, NY. The ABIS provides clinical support for habilitative, behavioral and psychiatric needs while carrying out Direct Support Professional duties under BIS supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related Human Services field with 6 months of I/DD experience.
• Four years of direct care experience (e.g., DSP) in a YAI program.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reporting and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train weekend staff; support new staff in developing core competencies.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans and ensure data collection per plans.
• Coordinate community inclusion activities and document progress.
