Job summary
Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician in Downey, CA, to provide one-on-one support in home-based or community-based settings, under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts. You will help clients with Autism and related challenges, build social and communication skills, and document progress accurately.
The role includes Mileage reimbursement, weekly pay, and benefits options; schedules include morning, afternoon, and evening slots to fit client needs.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with individuals with special needs.
- Strong communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- College coursework or 1 year of related experience with children.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental delays and behavioral health challenges
- Help individuals build social and communication skills
- Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors
- Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts
- Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately
- Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session
