Job summary

Colonial Park Elementary School in Stoneham, MA is seeking an ABA Technician to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder by implementing individualized ABA-based learning and behavior programs. The role reports to the Principal, Classroom Teacher, and BCBA and requires collaboration with the school team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related developmental disabilities.
• Implements individualized academic and behavior programs.
• Provides instruction using ABA principles including discrete trial instruction and task analysis.
• Participates in daily classroom routines such as circle time, recess, lunch, and group activities.
• Implements student-specific behavior plans to reduce challenging behaviors and increase functional behaviors.
• Collects data and tracks progress to identify next steps in programs.
• Conducts or assists with student skills assessments.
• Communicates progress with BCBA and classroom teacher.
• Delivers direct instruction in home or after-school environments to build social and daily living skills.
• Demonstrates program implementation for parents and training staff.
• Gathers and maintains materials, data sheets, and notebooks.

Job Title : ABA Technician

Qualifications :

• Classroom experience preferred
• ABA experience preferred

Responsibilities :

• Works directly with students who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other related developmental disabilities
• Implements individualized academic and behavior programs
• Provides instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including discrete trial instruction, task analysis, naturalistic teaching techniques
• Participates in the daily routine of a classroom including but not limited to activities such as circle time, recess, lunch, group activities, and toileting
• Independently implements student-specific behavior plans to decrease challenging behaviors and increase functional behaviors
• Collects ongoing data, summarizes the data to monitor students' progress, and identifies next steps in program
• Conducts or assists with conducting student skills assessments
• Communicates in written or verbal format with BCBA and classroom teacher about student progress
• Implements direct instruction in the home or other after before/ school environment to increase appropriate social skills, activities of daily living, and social interactions and/or address other IEP goal areas
• Models implementation of academic and behavior programs for parents
• Assist with training staff in implementation of behavior intervention plans and skills building programs
• Gathers, maintains, and prepares students' materials, data sheets, and program notebooks
• Responsible for any other duties assigned

Terms of Employment- Per union Contract

$32.93/Hour

* Additional compensation will be provided for in home or after/before school assignment
