Job summary

Washington Township Schools is seeking a Leave Replacement Behavioral Intervention Paraprofessional to support students under BCBA supervision. You will provide behavioral guidance and academic support per IEPs and instructional programs.

Receive Applied Behavior Analysis-based training up to 2 hours per month, record daily data (including ABC data), and implement strategies within a behavior intervention plan. Travel across the district to assist students as needed.

Qualifications

• Coursework in psychology, sociology, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with children with special needs or challenging behavior preferred.
• Experience with data collection and ABA strategies strongly preferred.
• Open to learning Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
• Willingness to manage challenging behavior under BCBA guidance.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Good oral communication and collaboration with the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral guidance and academic support to students according to their IEP or other instructional program.
• Receive Applied Behavior Analysis-based training up to 2 hours/month.
• Record daily data on behaviors of interest, including ABC data, per behavioral intervention plan or as directed by the BCBA/BCaBA.
• Receive training on use of electronic data collection systems and graphing of behavioral data.
• Implement antecedent strategies, reinforcement systems, replacement skills and consequences as defined by behavioral intervention plan.
• Address behaviors in accordance with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to address the students ' needs.
• Maintain respect and confidentiality for all students.
• Ability to move around the district supporting students who require a behaviorally trained para.
