Job summary

Washington Township Schools in New Jersey seeks an Anticipated Behavioral Intervention Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role (not to exceed 30 hours/week) offers on-site district placement with a starting date of September 1, 2026 and pay at $31.00 per hour.

The position requires coursework in related fields, plus experience with special needs and ABA strategies, and involves data collection, training, and collaboration with BCBA/BCaBA-guided plans.

Qualifications

• Coursework in psychology, sociology, early childhood development, education, social work, behavior sciences, human development, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with children with special needs or challenging behavior preferred.
• Experience with data collection and ABA-based strategies strongly preferred.
• Willingness to learn the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Ability to manage significant challenging behavior under the guidance of a BCBA.
• Knowledge of child growth and development and classroom practices.
• Good oral communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral guidance and academic support to students according to their IEP or other instructional program.
• Receive Applied Behavior Analysis-based training up to 2 hours/month.
• Record daily data on behaviors of interest, including interval and ABC data, per behavioral intervention plan or as directed by the BCBA/BCaBA.
• Receive training on use of electronic data collection systems and graphing of behavioral data.
• Implement antecedent strategies, reinforcement systems, replacement skills and consequences as defined by behavioral intervention plan.
• Address behaviors in accordance with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to address the students ' needs.
• Maintain respect and confidentiality for all students.
• Ability to move around the district supporting students who require a behaviorally trained para.
