Job summary

Monroe School District in Snohomish, WA is seeking a part-time Behavior Technician to support students with challenging behaviors under the supervision of a BCBA or behavior specialist. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, data collection, and implementing evidence-based strategies to help students access learning.

The position requires relevant education or certifications and willingness to complete district training within 60 days.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher or 2 years of college (72 quarter credits).
• BA in human services-related field preferred.
• Current Certified Behavior Technician (Washington) and/or Registered Behavior Technician (BCBA) certification preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children with special needs.
• Willingness to attend district-sponsored training and become certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational support in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and behavior reduction protocols.
• Assist BCBA and teachers with monitoring and data analysis of student progress.
• Assist the district BCBA with staff trainings both in and out of the classroom.
• Collect, record and summarize data on observable client behavior and communicate findings to BCBA and IEP team members.
• Implement, model and communicate behavior plans as instructed by the BCBA or district administrators.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with students and staff.
