Job summary

Placer County Office of Education is seeking a part-time Behavior Support Assistant to support students with disabilities. You will gather and chart data on student behavior and model intervention strategies using ABA methods.

You will assist classroom and instructional staff with BSP/BIP implementations, and provide general classroom support as needed. Proof of HS diploma or equivalent is required, with additional certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• Proof of High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proof of Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Certificate (if not on file, obtain within six months).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (if not on file, obtain within 30 days).
• 60 Semester Units (2 years) completed or higher degree or passing local assessment.
• Math knowledge at HS level (fractions, percentages, word problems).
• Reading/Writing at HS level comprehension and language.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and charts data related to student behavior.
• Models behavior intervention strategies using ABA.
• Assists classroom staff and instructional support staff with BSP/BIP implementation.
• Provides support to teach students with communicative or physical disabilities.
• Performs general classroom assistance duties.
