Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree with 4+ years in engineering support for biomedical systems.
  • Experience in mechanical and electronic troubleshooting, telemetry, and lab automation.

About the Role

Culmen International is looking for an AAT Engineering Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.

The AAT Engineering Technician ensures operability and compliance of animal telemetry and aerosol delivery systems, performing preventive maintenance and supporting experiment execution.

What You’ll Do in Your New Role
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot telemetry and aerosol delivery systems.
  • Support technical setup and sterilization of exposure chambers.
  • Maintain logs and documentation of engineering controls.
  • Work collaboratively with research and veterinary staff.
  • Ensure BSL-3/4 engineering support protocols are followed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or related field or Associate degree with relevant experience accepted with 4+ years in engineering support for biomedical systems.
  • Mechanical and electronic troubleshooting experience.
  • Understanding of telemetry, sensors, and lab automation.
  • Familiarity with BSL facility support systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
