Job summary

Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX seeks an Audio/Visual Specialist (Level I-III) to install, maintain and operate multi-media A/V equipment in learning and meeting spaces. The role supports campus events, manages equipment provisioning, and stays current with learning technologies.

The position requires flexible scheduling, strong communication, and teamwork with IT and facilities. Levels differ by degree/experience; non-exempt, full-time staff. Open until filled.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree OR Certification in Information Technology or a related field and three (3) years experience.
• Level II requires Associate’s degree and one (1) year experience OR Certification in Information Technology or a related field and five (5) years experience.
• Level III requires Associate’s degree and three (3) years experience OR Certification in Information Technology or a related field and eight (8) years experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain audio and visual equipment by performing preventive maintenance, calibrations, and adjustments.
• Respond, diagnose, and resolve incident requests and service requests based on established policies.
• Install, configure, and decommission desktop workstation hardware, operating system and application software, network, and peripherals; install, configure, and troubleshoot network-connected A/V equipment and systems; install, repair, and terminate network and A/V cabling based on established standards.
• Deliver, set up, test, operate, and provide live technical support for computers and audio visual equipment for sponsored events, interfacing with facilities, building coordinators, IT, and other campus departments as needed.
• Update and patch operating system software, application software, and firmware as required by policy and/or best practices for operational reliability and cyber security.
• Maintain knowledge and proficiency in current and emerging A/V learning technologies including projection, interactive displays, accessibility, conferencing, cameras, and audio systems; Develop basic operating instruction guides for media equipment; Maintain equipment operation manuals and warranty files.
