Job summary

UWM is seeking an A/V Support Technician I to be the frontline for audiovisual support across conference, training, and auditorium spaces on the campus. The role includes live event support, recording and streaming, and routine room readiness checks.

The position emphasizes independent work, high service levels, and progression toward Level II with hands-on experience in Crestron Mercury, Vitec, and streaming tools. On-site, with a generous benefits package and a strong culture of support.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in AV technical support
• Basic understanding of video switching systems (multi-view, recording/streaming)
• Basic understanding of auditorium tech (lighting, cameras, audio mixers)
• Display diagnostic and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of training room functionality
• On-site attendance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Work independently with little supervision on daily support tasks
• Manage incident calls from intake through resolution with high client service
• Diagnose problems or technical issues and determine solutions
• Live setup and support for AV events including recording and streaming
• Perform conference/training room functionality checks to ensure events are ready
• Escalate issues when beyond scope of role
