Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified Aircraft Mechanic in the United States to perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and DoD regulations.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, a high school diploma, and the ability to read schematics. Travel for temporary duty assignments and the ability to obtain CBP clearance are also required. Expect rigorous safety standards and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid FAA A&P certificate.
• US Citizenship required for clearance.
• Must pass CBP Background Investigation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Ability to read/write English.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Willing to travel for temporary duty assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft per 14 CFR and DoD data.
• Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and fault isolate aircraft systems; perform corrosion control.
• Possibly fly on gov't aircraft for relocation or in-flight checks.
• May travel to temporary duty sites domestically and abroad.
• Provide own basic hand tools; customer furnishes special tools as needed.
• Follow safety, hazardous waste handling, and regulatory procedures.
