Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic 2 specialized in Sheetmetal/Structures to repair and replace structural components on rotary-wing aircraft. Responsibilities include inspecting components, fabricating parts, and performing preventive maintenance following manuals and safety protocols.

Candidate should have a High School Diploma, military technical training, and up-to-date tools; a valid A&P is optional. Travel up to 75% and U.S. citizenship for access may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
• Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional)
• Three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing experience, and two years on the assigned MDS within the last six years.

Responsibilities

• Oversees repairs, fabrication, modification and installation of structural parts.
• Performs checks, inspections and removal of components.
• Prepares and issues repair parts requests and records.
• Maintains and uses tools for structural repairs and alignment fixtures.
• Performs final checks on assembly and installation of replaced parts.
• Adheres to safety programs and company policies.
