Johnson County Government is seeking an Overnight Shift Supervisor/988 Clinician to join the 988 Crisis Team, providing mental health crisis services primarily by phone. The role works closely with first responders and JCMHC programs, with varied shifts including overnights and weekends.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a human services field and Kansas licensure, plus the ability to coordinate care, supervise staff, and participate in ongoing training and quality review processes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other Human Services field and Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the master's level in the area of focus are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and guidance to 988 Crisis Call Specialist.
• Serve as a leader in clinical decision making and provide oversight of staff on duty within parameters specified by 988 leadership.
• Assume operational responsibility for the assigned shift.
• Assist in the performance evaluation, hiring process, and provide input on employment discussions within the assigned shift at the 988 Center.
• Serve as role model for staff and be a positive representative of the department.
• Provide coaching and mentoring of staff, assist with staff development and new hire training.
• Reviews State Screening documentation and forwards all necessary documentation to appropriate entities, i.e., District Attorney, state hospital, mental health center, or other inpatient hospitals, and coordinates care for citizens of Johnson County, law enforcement officers, hospitals, JCMHC treatment teams, and other community agencies.
• Oversees acquisition and forwarding of all necessary documentation for individuals requiring voluntary or involuntary hospitalization.
• Assists in completing assessments of youth at the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
• Attend meetings with and sometimes in lieu of the 988 Team Leader.
• Complete quality review processes for assigned staff to ensure the integrity and quality of the work being done.
• Collaborate with 988 leadership to implement training and wellness curriculum for 988 staff.
