Job summary

Johnson County Government seeks a Mental Health Nurse (RN) to support the Adult Crisis Stabilization Center on an overnight schedule. The RN will work with the Behavioral Health Nursing team, assist with admissions for youth, and coordinate care with clinicians, psychiatrists, and case managers to meet adult client needs.

Schedule is Saturday/Sunday 7:00 pm–7:30 am. The role requires Kansas RN licensure, a nursing degree, and a valid driver's license; background screening is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Nursing program degree (Vocational, Associate's, or Bachelor's) that meets RN requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing services and health assessments, manage medications, and perform limited procedures within area of specialty.
• Assess psychiatric symptoms and psychosocial issues, coordinate with psychiatrists and treatment team, and monitor patient responses.
• Complete documentation, educate patients and families, and provide case management and follow-up as needed.
