Job summary

Harnett County Business and Education Partnership seeks a detail-oriented supervisor for the 911 communications center. The role oversees scheduling, policy drafting, and entry of domestic violence orders into the DCI system, while ensuring training and certification of staff and maintaining compliance with applicable procedures.

In emergencies, you will work in the EOC and may serve as a Telecommunicator, operating dispatch equipment and coordinating with law enforcement and fire/rescue teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of telecommunications/dispatching experience using the DCI system with supervisory exposure.
• Certification by NC as a DCI Operator or ability to obtain within required time frame.
• Possession of TAC/A-TAC training and certifications.
• Certifications in EMD, EPD, EFD and required NIMS modules (or obtainable within reasonable time of hire).

Responsibilities

• Serves as the TAC for the Department; ensures DCI entries are complete, valid, and current; trains and certifies DCI users.
• Provides research and reporting support for the Communications Division; maintains records and files.
• Enters information on domestic violence orders into DCI.
• Attends monthly DOT meetings to learn and pass on information.
• Works in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when activated to support information exchange.
• Serves as a Telecommunicator as needed; operates CAD/document call info, dispatches service and maintains contact with law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel; uses EMD protocols to assist medical personnel.
• Reviews 911 complaints.
• Gathers information from the public in response to requests.
• Attends trainings to maintain program knowledge and certifications.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
