Job summary

Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency seeks an experienced 9-1-1 Operations Supervisor to oversee daily dispatch operations and lead a team of call takers and dispatchers on scheduled shifts.

The role requires strong leadership, training, and incident management skills to ensure accurate, timely emergency responses across multiple jurisdictions. Applicants must have DPSST Telecommunicator credentials and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of progressive responsibility in a 9-1-1 dispatch center or communications operations.
• High school diploma required.
• Experience in training, coaching or leading 9-1-1 dispatchers.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Possess and maintain Basic DPSST Telecommunicator, CPR/AED, and LEDS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide and exhibit leadership to staff and teams, setting standards for excellence in customer service and problem resolution.
• Coordinate and direct emergency incidents in the Communications Center and ensure proper notifications.
• Schedule, assign, and review work; conduct timely performance evaluations.
• Supervise dispatch staff, including call takers, police and fire dispatchers, and lead dispatchers.
• Assist with training, mentorship, and performance improvement plans; participate in budget considerations.
