Marlborough Public Schools seeks a 7D Bus Driver (Van) to transport students safely within Marlborough, MA. This part-time position requires compliance with school policies and state regulations, with responsibilities for pupil safety and schedules.

The role reports to the Transportation Coordinator and operates under the supervision of the district. Candidates must hold a valid 7D or CDL with passenger endorsement and pass background checks.

Responsabilidades

• Reports discipline when students are on bus to principal/director.
• Contacts local authorities in emergencies while in route.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exhibits responsible leadership on out-of-district trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking, vaping and eating on the bus.
• Performs duties as indicated by the Superintendent and Marlborough School Committee policies.

Effective Dateof Employment:

Salary range:

Internal: Regular employee hourly rate plus overtime if eligible

External: Hourly rate commensurate with experience

Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 12:30pm-1:00pm (MHS to Assabet)

Monday-Thursday 5:30-6:15pm (Assabet to student homes)

Other hours may be be assigned as driver regular availability allows.

Mid-day shift is paid straight-time for current employees.

Organizational Relationshipor Line of Authority:

Directly responsible to the Transportation and Finance Coordinator and through themto the Director of Finance and Operations. Reports to the building administrator for daily task responsibilities.

Job Goals:

To provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school for Marlborough Public School Students to provide access to the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

Statement of Duties:

• Maintains safety for students at all times.
• Obeys traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Reports discipline when students are on bus to principal/director.
• Contacts local authorities (police, fire, ambulance) in emergency unsafe situations while in route.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking, vaping and/or eating on the bus.
• Performs all duties as indicated by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees and the policies of the Marlborough School Committee.

Qualifications:

• Valid 7D License for Van OR a valid CDL License/DPU with passenger endorsement for bus required. [7D license certificate and training costs are eligible for reimburesment by MPS with passing test/exam grades.]

• Demonstrate ability to adapt to change, be compatible with children and adults, and be able to function in a school environment.
