Job summary

Galvin Middle School in Canton, Massachusetts is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Tutor for the 2026-27 school year. The role involves working with Grade 6 students in need of math intervention, about 16–19.5 hours per week, 5 days/week, from late September through late May.

Preferred candidates will have experience delivering targeted small group instruction, planning with district materials, and reporting progress. Collaboration with Grade 6 teams and the Math Dept Head is expected.

Qualifications

• MA Elementary Certification preferred
• SEI Endorsement preferred
• Familiarity with RTI
• Experience using research based reading programs
• Familiarity with the Massachusetts Math Curriculum Frameworks
• Familiarity with science of reading aligned practices and the reading workshop model

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted small group math instruction based on current assessment data.
• Create lesson plans aligned with state/district standards and driven by formative assessment and differentiation.
• Keep notes on student progress and write brief progress reports for students on caseload.
• Collaborate with Grade 6 teams, Math Dept Head, Principals and Instructional Coach.
• Provide timely feedback to students and communicate with families and staff.
