Job summary

Galvin Middle School in Canton, MA is seeking a part-time Middle School Reading Tutor for the 2026-27 year to support Grade 6 students in reading intervention. The role features a 16–19.5 hour work week, five days per week, with a start in late September through late May.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with delivering targeted small group instruction using district materials.
• Ability to create lesson plans aligned to standards with differentiation.
• Experience tracking student progress and writing concise progress notes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted small group instruction with data-driven guidance.
• Plan lessons aligned with state and district standards.
• Provide formative feedback and ask analytical questions to engage students.
• Collaborate with Grade 6 teams, ELA Dept Head, Principals, and Instructional Coach.
• Prepare and share progress reports for students on caseload.
