Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District is seeking a 6-12 Secondary English Language Arts Specialist to provide leadership, expertise, and oversight of ELA programs and MTSS initiatives across the region. The role partners with district and school leaders to advance evidence-based literacy practices, support teachers, and participate in county/state literacy networks.

A master’s in literacy or related field, plus five years of teaching and MI certification, are required; master’s plus 30 graduate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and MI teaching certificate required.
• Minimum five years of secondary teaching experience.
• Experience with MTSS or related literacy programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for 6–12 ELA programs and initiatives.
• Facilitate evidence-based practices to improve reading and writing outcomes.
• Support district/building leaders and teachers with current disciplinary literacy knowledge.
• Represent GISD on county/state literacy committees and networks.
