Job summary

Polymer Concepts Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to set up and operate a range of machines that produce aerospace and industrial seal parts from carbon materials. You will follow safety and quality policies, read blueprints, and load programs from DNC.

Key duties include machine setup with precise alignment, inspection, and assembling seal components. The role requires one year of CNC experience and willingness to travel for customer certification.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum one year working with CNC mills, lathes, grinders, drill press, burnish machine.
• Capable of travel for customer certification.
• Vision correctable to 20/25 in one eye.
• Familiarity with blueprints and metal qualities (cast iron, stainless etc.).

Responsibilities

• Follows safety and quality policies.
• Maintains clean, orderly work area and equipment.
• Setups requiring careful alignment and rigidity.
• Operate various machines (South Bend lathes, grinders, drills, honing/lapping).
• Load programs from DNC and transfer to main memory.
• Check tools and sizes; adjust feeds/speeds as needed.
• Assemble seal components from parts and prints.
• Maintain records and paperwork; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Summary: Toset up andoperatecarbon shop machines to produce aerospace and industrial seal parts made ofpredominately carboncomponents.

Essential Job Functions includes and arenot limited to:

• Followsallsafetyand quality policies.
• Follows Company rules/policies.
• Communicates with supervision on regular basis.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Set ups exacting and difficult requiring care tomaintainalignment, rigidity and avoid distraction.
• Set up andoperatea variety of machines and equipment, such asmodifiedSouth Bend lathes, test equipment, surface grinder, grooving machines, drill presses, honing and lapping machines, handgrindersand other special equipment.
• Perform operations such as face groove, undercut, bore groove, axial groove, cut segments, attach, adjust, fit, bolt, deburr, scrape, file,etc, tear down old set up, clean machine table.
• Put clean new fixtures inlocatingpocket in front and back row on machine table. Bolt down fixtures and tram in.
• Load program from DNC.
• Transfer program to main memory and name.
• Check set up sheet for tool requirements Change toolsasrequired.
• Check for size.
• Set tool length offset etc., set point program.
• Start cycle, check work.
• Make further adjustments as needed.
• Set gages or measuring instruments·requiredto check work.
• Use prepared programs and instructions.
• Edit programs as needed due to part variations(feeds and speeds only).
• As necessary use hand tools and equipment to fit, assemble and test seals. Gather and assemble seal components into sets.
• Work from prints, sketches, and process sheets,verbalor written instructions.
• Maintain paperwork, clean, apply coatings, wrap,packageand transport items as needed.
• Maintain records and paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

JobRequirements:

• HSD or GED.
• Must meetrequirements forExport Control / ITAR Compliance(see Export Control / ITAR Compliance section for details).
• Minimumone (1) year working withCNC mills, lathes, grinders, drill press, burnish machine.
• Must be capable of travel whenrequiredfor customer certification.
• Vision must be correctable to 20/25 in one eye.
• Familiarity and basic understanding of blueprints.
• Previouswork with metalsquality(cast iron, stainless steel, titanium,etc.)preferred.
• Ability to train on shift other than home shift.
• Home shift: Saturday & Sunday, 11A-11P and Monday, 3P-11P -- work 32 hours and get paid for 42!

Physical Requirements:

• Safety sensitive role.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Ability tolift upto 35 pounds.
• Favorable pre-employment screening results.
