Job summary

Polymer Concepts Technologies, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Machining Set Up and Operator for piston rings in Hanover, PA. You will work with precision equipment to produce aerospace and industrial piston rings, following prints, process sheets, and travelers.

The role includes training new hires and maintaining quality and safety standards. The position requires familiarity with blueprints, two years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to work on shift with adjustments to tooling,

Qualifications

• HSD or GED required.
• Familiarity with blueprints a must.
• Export Control / ITAR compliance requirements apply.
• Minimum two years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working with metals (e.g., cast iron, stainless steel) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and quality policies.
• Read and interpret prints, sketches, process sheets and travelers.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances.
• Make adjustments to offsets, tooling, feeds and speeds.
• Transport materials, dip, coat and wrap products as needed.
• Train new hires.
• Maintain records and paperwork.
• Perform lubrication and basic maintenance on machines.

Job Summary:

To utilize a variety of equipment to produce quality piston rings for aerospace and industrial use.

Essential Job Functions includes and are not limited to:

• Follows all safety and quality policies.
• Follows Company rules/policies.
• Communicates with supervision on regular basis.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Duties include working from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions.
• Use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, air gage, dial, indicator, depth feeler gage to measure width, wall face width, step height, depth angle, to tolerances generally within .001\", occasionally as close as .0001\".
• Makes adjustments on equipment such as, and not limited to offsets, insert or tooling changes, feeds and speeds, etc.
• Transport materials; perform dipping, coating, and wrapping of products as needed.
• Trains new hires.
• Perform operator capable lubrication of service to machines and equipment.
• Maintain records and paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

EQUIPMENT USED

Includes and is not limited to all equipment, tools, and instruments within the Sealing Rings Department.

Job Requirements:

• HSD or GED.
• Familiarity and basic understanding of blueprints.
• High level of mechanical aptitude.
• Must meet requirements for Export Control / ITAR Compliance (see Export Control / ITAR Compliance section for details).
• Minimum two years manufacturing experience as helper or operator in industrial manufacturing facility preferred.
• Previous work with metals (cast iron, stainless steel, inconel, titanium, etc.) preferred.
• Must be able to train on shift other than home shift.
• Home shift: M-F, 3P-11P.

Physical Requirements:

• Safety sensitive role.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
