Persistence Prep, a new K-8 charter school in Buffalo, seeks a Special Education Teacher to join the Scholar Supports Team. You will oversee pre-referral and referral processes and help create IEPs and 504 plans for students with special needs.

In grades 5-6 you will co-teach and may provide pull-out services in ELA and/or Math, using data to tailor instruction while building strong relationships with students and families, and collaborating with the District CSE.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of Special Education teaching in an urban setting is preferred.
• New York State Certification in Special Education required.
• Track record of supporting students with special needs in growth (academic & behavioral).
• Ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.

Responsabilidades

• Create and execute lessons that meet IEP goals for small groups.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support all students with IEPs or 504 plans.
• Assist with creation, execution, and modification of IEPs and 504 plans; communicate with CSE as needed.
• Coordinate with Scholar Supports Coordinator and teachers for schedules, modifications, and accommodations.
• Facilitate professional development related to modifications and accommodations for students with special needs.
• Assist in RTI processes and any required testing.
• Manage family relationships for students on your caseload receiving special education services.
• Analyze scholar data and reflect on practices to inform instruction.
• Commit to Persistence Prep's mission and uphold high expectations for all scholars.
