Job summary

The Mapleton School in Malvern, PA, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, seeks Teacher Assistants to provide direct behavioral intervention to students. 52-week positions, Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with strong support for growth and development opportunities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Special Education preferred. Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Devereux offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits after 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.
• Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies to reduce risk.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety.
• Establish a classroom environment conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors.
• Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups.
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher.
