Job summary

Devereux Day Academy in Landenberg, PA, seeks a Teacher Assistant to provide direct behavioral intervention to students in a private academic program serving K-12 with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences. You’ll join a multi-disciplinary team focused on PW-PBIS and differentiated instruction.

The role is a year-long, 52-week position with a Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm schedule, offering training and career growth opportunities within a supportive, educational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Special Education preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders.
• Must be 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety
• Assist in establishing classroom environments that are conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
• Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
