Job summary

Flowserve is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Vernon, Alabama manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and inspect complex components produced on advanced CNC machining centers, ensuring parts meet engineering specifications safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including 5-axis operations, with proficiency in read/interpretation of blueprints and GD&T.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience, including complex 5-axis machining operations.
• Experience operating CNC turning and milling equipment, including 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Experience inspecting machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Strong understanding of machine setup, machine controls, feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and machining processes.
• Experience machining stainless steel and other industrial materials.
• Ability to perform machine shop math and calculations.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-axis turning, 5-axis turning, and 5-axis milling CNC machines to produce precision components.
• Perform complex machine setups, select tooling, and optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
• Edit and troubleshoot G-code programs directly at machine controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to ensure parts are machined to specification.
• Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and scales.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and verify machine settings before production runs.
• Maintain quality standards and identify opportunities to improve machining performance and productivity.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
