Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in program development and management in 4-H or youth development.
• Volunteer management experience.
• Ability to work with diverse communities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with program planning and evaluation.
• Traveling locally and regionally to fulfill duties.

Responsibilities

• Train 4-H volunteers to reach and involve youth, adults, and families with non-formal learning experiences.
• Build partnerships with schools and community groups to expand program delivery.
• Attend Leaders’ Council and other program meetings to guide volunteers and projects.
• Provide leadership to local volunteer management and annual metrics.
• Collaborate to identify and implement MSU Extension priorities across communities.
• Operate with independence to meet county-level program goals and reach youth statewide.
• Use needs assessments to drive program topics and delivery methods.
• Manage county-level financial resources for 4-H programs.
• Support culture, access, belonging, and Civil Rights within 4-H programs.
