Job summary

Michigan State University Extension in East Lansing is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Michigan 4-H Youth Development program and the Michigan 4-H Foundation. You will develop and manage integrated communications strategies, create feature stories, and raise awareness and engagement for Michigan 4-H.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in communications, journalism, marketing or PR.
• Up to six months of related experience in internal communications, marketing, or PR.
• Proficiency with technology and MS Office; familiarity with design/multimedia tools.
• Willingness to travel locally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage program materials for target audiences.
• Edit layouts; ensure readability and consistent style.
• Monitor social media and engage with audiences.
• Research and write articles, press releases, and reports.
• Assist with web design, maintenance and content management.
• Monitor news and trends relevant to unit activities.
• Schedule meetings and conferences on- and off-campus.
• Oversee student employees and interns.
• Coordinate communications for events and donor engagement.
