Job summary

MSU Extension's Sanilac County 4-H program seeks a dedicated Coordinator to lead youth development, recruit and train volunteers, and build partnerships with schools and communities.

You will deliver programs for youth, supervise volunteers, manage funds, and report outcomes to institute leadership while promoting inclusive practices.

This is an off-dated, one-year position with possible extension; some travel within the county is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in program development and management in 4-H or youth development.
• Volunteer management experience supervising volunteers.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and populations.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Zoom, Qualtrics, Microsoft Teams, and MS Office tools.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Train 4-H volunteers to reach youth, adults, and families with engaging learning experiences.
• Build partnerships with schools and community groups to expand programs.
• Attend Leaders’ Council meetings and coordinate volunteers.
• Provide leadership in volunteer management and program oversight.
• Collaborate with 4-H staff to implement MSU Extension priorities across communities.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate youth development programs responsive to county needs.
