Job summary

University of Illinois Extension in Pontiac seeks an Extension Program Coordinator (4-H Youth Development) to support promotion, expansion, and implementation of 4-H programs in schools and communities.

Responsibilities include coordinating educational activities, volunteer leadership, and program evaluation, with travel within the state. Requires strong organizational and communication skills and a background in youth development.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Four years (48 months) of responsible volunteer or professional work experience coordinating educational or community programs.
• Volunteer/work experience coordinating educational and/or community programs.
• College coursework in any field of study.
• 60 semester hours equals two years; 90 semester hours equals three years; 120 semester hours or more equals four years.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement youth-focused educational programs; effective communication with youth.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning of educational activities for the program with staff collaboration.
• Identify priority needs and address them through Extension 4-H youth programs.
• Evaluate program activities and adjust as needed.
• Provide leadership to volunteers, 4-H members and families.
• Maintain records (4-HOnline, 4-H Fair Entry) and prepare monthly reports.
