Job summary

The Associate 4-H Program Educator role supports the UW–Madison Division of Extension, primarily serving Portage County in Wisconsin. The position focuses on outreach, promotion of 4-H clubs, planning youth programs, and developing in-school and community clubs while assisting with event coordination and administration.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years in youth programming, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant work or volunteer experience in youth programming.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments.
• Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high-quality work.
• Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support across various functions, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, and performing data entry using 4-H Online.
• Track program evaluation and incorporate feedback for improvement.
• Implement initiatives and events that serve the target audience.
• Procure and maintain course materials and supplies.
• Teach culturally relevant educational programs to adults and youth using learner-centered activities.
• Help design marketing materials and promotions for programs.
