Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an Outreach Specialist within the Extension 4-H program. The role leads county-based 4-H programs, directing administration, volunteer management, and youth advocacy to deliver high-quality, youth-focused experiences.

You will coordinate partnerships, develop curricula, and guide program staff and volunteers to ensure responsible delivery across communities, with in-person county-based activities and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience programming and/or service delivery related to youth development.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Experience managing and/or supervising volunteers and/or staff.
• Ability to apply policies, procedures and regulations including reporting and risk management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and volunteers.
• Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program.
• Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics for outreach programs.
• Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members.
• Communicates plans, activities, and achievements to leadership and stakeholders.
• Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides improvement recommendations.
• May assist with monitoring outreach program budget spending.
