Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Perrysburg Medical Center. The role supports patients under the supervision of a nurse, handling basic care, vital signs, hygiene and mobility while ensuring comfort and safety in a fast-paced setting.

Key responsibilities include documentation, hand-offs, and collaborating with the care team. BLS is preferred, with various nursing aide pathways acceptable to qualify. Training on EPIC EHR is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.
• Must complete nursing aide training OR STNA OR CNA OR nursing program with clinical rotation OR 1 year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care, hygiene and vital signs and assists mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off/report of needs on arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Utilizes safe transfer techniques to mobilize patients.
• Encourages patient independence and self-care where possible.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and preferences.
