Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, manage staffing and hiring, and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards for service and appearance.

You will lead development and succession planning, ensure training completion, and uphold a safe, friendly shopping environment with exceptional customer service and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in an organized way.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members including SDITs, hourly team members and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentors and coaches team members to achieve service and sales goals.
• Executes staffing, selection, and hiring to meet needs.
• Promotes career development and succession planning; supports promotion decisions.
• Manages P&L, drives sales and controls shrink in the department.
• Delivers exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and discussions.
• Ensures team training completes required programs and adheres to standards.
• Keeps focus on prime shopping hours, store appearance, and product presentation.
• Maintains a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
