Job summary

Saab, a leading defense and security company, is hiring for 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Start date anticipated early December 2026. Roles include assembling structures, training teammates, and contributing to a state-of-the-art production system.

Compensation starts at $23–$25 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift premium. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or eligible per requirements; pre-employment drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality to install systems and final assembly on the aircraft fuselage.
• Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions in a team environment.
• Support daily continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specification.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive work environment aligned with company values.
