Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structure, train new team members, and contribute to our state-of-the-art production system.

Starting pay is $23-$25 per hour, plus a $2 shift premium. Saab will provide on-site training through our Aerospace structures training academy with an anticipated start date in early December 2026.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures and finalize fuselage installation per procedures.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge on production processes.
• Support continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces, including touch-up painting.
• Sign off on completed work per specifications.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values.
